Who we are

Naija Score (naija-score.com) is a football information site for readers in Nigeria, run by the Naija Score team. For anything about your data, write to us through the contact page.

What we collect and why

  1. Contact form — your name, email and message, so we can reply. We keep them for up to 12 months after the conversation ends.
  2. "Notify me" email — only your email address, only to tell you when picks by email start. We won't use it for anything else unless we ask you again first.
  3. Taps on betting-site links — when you tap a link marked "Ad", we record which link, the page you were on, the page that sent you there and the time. We don't store your name, email or IP address with it. We use it to count which links are used.
  4. Analytics (not switched on yet) — when we switch it on, we will ask first. If you choose "Accept", we will use Google Analytics 4 to count visits: pages viewed, how you found us, approximate location (country or city), device type and taps on betting-site links. Google Analytics sets cookies for this. We have switched off Google signals and ad personalisation, and analytics data is kept for 14 months. If you choose "No thanks", no analytics cookies are set; Google may still receive basic visit signals without cookies or identifiers. You will be able to change your choice any time from a link at the bottom of every page.
  5. Settings on your device — small settings saved in your browser (for example, that you closed the offer bar or your cookie choice). They stay on your device.

Who handles the data for us

Supabase (database, United States) stores contact messages, "notify me" emails and link taps. Google (Google Analytics 4) receives analytics data if you accept. HostGator (web hosting) and Cloudflare (network and security) carry your connection to the site. Because these providers are outside Nigeria, your data is transferred abroad; we only use providers that commit to protecting it, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires.

What we never do

We don't sell your personal data and we don't share it with betting sites. When you tap a link to a betting site you leave Naija Score, and that site's own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, withdraw your consent at any time and ask for a copy. Write to us through the contact page; we aim to reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

Age

Naija Score is for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

The rulebook

Play within the lines

Four lines that keep betting a game. Scroll to draw the pitch.

  1. Only stake what you can lose

Bet money you can afford to lose — never rent, school fees or savings.

  2. Set a limit on time and money

Decide both before you start, and stick to them when the match gets exciting.

  3. Don’t chase losses

Betting more to win back a loss is how small losses become big ones. Stop for the day.

  4. Take a break, ask for help

If betting stops being fun, pause. Self-exclusion and deposit limits exist — use them. 18+ only.
