How our football predictions work

Scroll through one example pick — from three possible outcomes to an honest confidence number.

  1. Three ways a match can end

    Every fixture has three outcomes: home win (1), draw (X) or away win (2). The model gives each one a probability, and the three always add up to 100%.

  2. The likeliest becomes the pick

    The outcome with the highest probability is published as the suggested pick — and that probability is the confidence you see on the card.

  3. Double chance covers two of three

    A double chance joins two outcomes, say home or draw, on one selection. It lands more often, at lower odds.

  4. 60% is not a sure thing

    If the number is right, a pick at 60% still loses about 4 times in 10. That is why every result is shown — and why no pick is ever a “sure banker”.

Naija Score turns data into a clear call. For every fixture, our model reads the outcome probabilities — home win, draw or away win — and publishes the most likely result as the suggested pick, along with a confidence percentage.

When it makes sense, we also derive a lower-risk double chance that covers two of the three outcomes. There is no guesswork and no cherry-picking: each pick is shown with its result. Today's picks are a backtest on 2023–24 matches, generated after those games were played; picks for upcoming fixtures will go up before kickoff once live data is on.

That last part is what makes us different. Plenty of sites shout "sure odds", "sure banker" or "100% sure" and quietly delete the misses. We show wins and losses side by side on this predictions page, and we label what the numbers are: for now a backtest, not a live record. It is football information you can check, not a sales pitch.

Every pick is shown with its result. Today’s results are a backtest on 2023–24 matches, so they test the model and are not a live record. Football is unpredictable and no model is perfect — the hit rate sits in a realistic range, never the "100% sure" fantasy some sites advertise.

Are your football predictions today free?

Yes. All our daily predictions and tips are free to read, each with the suggested pick, a confidence percentage and the reasoning behind it.

What is a double chance prediction?

A double chance pick covers two of the three match outcomes (home/draw/away) on one selection, so it lands more often than a straight 1X2 at lower odds. We explain it fully in our double chance guide.

What does the confidence percentage mean?

It is our model’s estimate of how likely the suggested outcome is, based on the outcome probabilities for that fixture. Higher confidence means the model rates the pick more strongly — but it is never a guarantee.

Do you post NPFL predictions?

Is there a "sure banker" or 100% sure prediction?

No. Anyone promising a guaranteed win is overselling. Treat every pick as information, stake within a budget, and bet responsibly. 18+.

What is a correct score prediction?

A correct score pick names the exact final scoreline, for example 2–1. It is one of the hardest markets to call, which is why the odds are high — treat "100 sure correct score" claims with heavy scepticism and never stake more than you can afford.

How often are predictions updated?

Once live data is on, new picks will be published as fixtures approach, with results added after matches finish. Until then the picks here are a backtest on 2023–24 matches. Check back for suggestions across the NPFL and the top leagues.
