Betking Shop: How to Find One & Bet in Cash (2026)

Betking shop guide for Nigeria: how to find one, bet and collect in cash, check a shop is genuine and keep your ticket safe. Know what to confirm first.

10 min readBy Naija Score

You have cash in your pocket, no data left and no bank app on your phone. Or you simply prefer to hand over notes and hold a printed ticket. That is why thousands of Nigerians search for a Betking shop every month. This guide covers only the physical side of Betking: how to find a shop, what you can do there, how a cash bet works, what to check before you hand over money and when the app or website is the smarter choice.

Where Betking publishes a rule, we report it. Where we could not confirm a detail, we say so and tell you what to ask at the counter.

How this guide was made. This guide is based on the bookmaker’s official site, the public LSLGA licence register and public information as of 1 November 2026. We have not visited a Betking shop or placed a bet for this guide, so it does not describe first-hand experience. Links marked “Ad” go to betting sites, and we don’t earn commission from them yet. Terms, markets and features change, so check the official site for current details.

Licence check before you carry cash

On 1 November 2026 we checked the public register of the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA). Betking appears there under SV Gaming Limited, with a licence running from 25 October 2025 to 24 October 2026. At the time we looked, the register did not yet show a renewal. That can simply be a delay in updating the list, so we are not drawing a conclusion from it.

What it means for you: because we cannot confirm the current status, we show no sign-up button for Betking. Before you deposit cash in any shop, check the register again, and ask the shop or Betking support to confirm the current licence. Our Betking review treats the same point in more detail.

Betking shop at a glance

QuestionShort answer
What is it?A retail outlet where an agent or cashier places bets for you and takes your cash.
Do I need an account? Not confirmed by Betking. A general guide to Nigerian shops says walk-in cash bets need no online account. Ask your shop.
Can I use a booking code?Betking has a “How To Book A Bet” help page. Whether your shop loads codes, ask at the counter.
How do I find one?Look for Betking branding in your area, ask the shop’s neighbours, or contact Betking support. We found no public shop locator.
What must I keep? The printed ticket. Treat it like cash.
How do I collect?Take the ticket back to the shop. Rules on time limits and payout caps: ask the shop or Betking.
Is there an alternative?Yes: the app, the website or the lite site. See below.

How to find a Betking shop near you

The direct answer: Betking does not publish a shop locator that we could find. On the official homepage we saw only a “Shop” menu item with no readable destination, and no list of addresses. So you have four practical routes.

  1. Walk and look. Official shops carry Betking branding. Check main roads, markets and motor parks in your area.
  2. Search a map app. Typing “Betking” with your area name in Google Maps often brings up listings. Treat a listing as a lead, not proof, because anyone can add or leave a stale entry.
  3. Ask Betking. The official site has a Help section and a “Contact us” page. Ask for the nearest shop in your town and request the shop’s name or agent number.
  4. Ask other punters. A shop regulars trust beats a new place with no history.

We do not list shop addresses, because we cannot verify them.

How to tell a genuine Betking shop

Betking’s shops appear to be run through agents rather than by Betking itself: the official site has a “Become an Agent” form, and its in-shop promotion terms refer to “eligible agent shops”. So check these points before you pay.

  • Branding that matches the official site. Compare the logo and colours with the official Betking website on your phone.
  • A working terminal and printer. Your ticket should print with the selections, odds, stake and potential win, and a ticket number.
  • No side deals. A real shop prints a ticket for every bet. If someone offers to “hold” your bet, walk out.
  • Confirmation from Betking. If unsure, message Betking support with the shop’s name and location.

What you can do in a Betking shop

ActionWhat we can confirm
Place a cash betBetking’s in-shop promotion terms refer to bet slips placed at agent shops, so in-shop betting exists. How a standard cash bet works: ask the shop.
Play with a booking codeNot confirmed for every shop. Ask first.
Collect winningsA general guide to Nigerian shops says you take the ticket back and the cashier checks the result. Betking’s own rules on this: ask the shop.
Join in-shop promotionsSome exist. Betking’s in-shop promotions terms require you to be 18 or older, with a bet slip in your name placed at an eligible agent shop during the promotion dates.
Open an account or fund onlineNot confirmed. Do this on the app or site, using our guide to funding your Betking account.
Verify your identity (KYC)Betking lists KYC validation on its help pages, but we found no statement on doing it in a shop. Ask.

Shops generally offer fewer markets than the website, and a crowded counter makes live betting harder. A general overview of Nigerian shops from LiveScore says the same thing, and it does not mention Betking specifically.

How to place a bet in a Betking shop, step by step

We have not done this ourselves, so this is the general process described by shop guides, with our cautions added. Confirm each step with your shop.

  1. Decide before you go. Pick your matches, markets and stake at home. Shop counters are where impulse bets happen. Browse our football predictions first, each shown with its result (today a backtest on 2023–24 matches, not a live record).
  2. Write it down or save a booking code. If you have built a slip on your phone, a code may save time. Read our Betking booking code guide for how codes work and why odds on a loaded code can differ. Not sure how to book one? See how to book a bet.
  3. Tell the cashier your selections and your stake. Read them out clearly, or show the code.
  4. Check the screen before you pay. Confirm every team, market, odd and the stake. Odds can change between your code and the moment it is entered, and cashiers can make mistakes.
  5. Pay and collect the printed ticket. Check the ticket again against your list before you leave the counter. Errors are far easier to fix on the spot.
  6. Photograph the ticket and keep the original safe. A photo helps your own records, but one general guide warns a shop may not accept a photo instead of the original.

The same code-to-shop workflow is described for another operator in our Bet9ja shop and old mobile guide. Do not assume Betking works identically.

Collecting winnings

The direct answer: you bring the original ticket back to the shop, the cashier checks the result and, if the ticket is a winner, pays you.

That is the general pattern for Nigerian shops, not a rule we could read on Betking’s own pages. What we could not confirm from Betking’s own pages:

  • how many days a ticket stays valid for payment;
  • whether there is a cash payout cap per ticket in a shop;
  • whether large wins need ID or extra checks, or are paid by bank transfer instead.

So ask the shop before you stake: “How long is my ticket valid, and is there a limit on cash payouts?” Do not rely on a figure from a random website. Once you are paid, count the money before you leave the counter.

Lost ticket? Without it you may not be able to collect, so tell the shop and Betking support straight away and ask what proof they accept.

Safety checklist for cash betting

  • Check the licence first. Look up the operator on the LSLGA register and ask Betking support to confirm its current status. See the note at the top of this guide.
  • Only pay at the counter. Never send cash or a transfer to a “agent” outside the shop who says he can place the bet for you.
  • Check the ticket before leaving. Wrong team, wrong market or wrong stake? Fix it now.
  • Guard the ticket. Do not leave it in a pocket that goes through the wash. Keep the original, since a photo may not be accepted.
  • Never share account details. Shop staff do not need your password or SMS code. Betking staff will not ask for them either.
  • Set a limit before you walk in. Decide your budget outside, not at the counter. Shops do not offer the stake limits and time-outs that betting sites do, as far as we could confirm, so the discipline is yours.
  • Keep your own record. Cash betting leaves no account history, so write down what you staked and won.

FAQ

Can I bet in a Betking shop without an account?

Betking’s own pages do not say. A general guide to Nigerian shops says walk-in cash bets need no online account, but rules differ by operator and shop. Ask at the counter before you queue.

How do I use a booking code in a Betking shop?

Betking has a help page called “How To Book A Bet”, so codes exist. Whether a given shop will load a code from your phone, ask the agent. Our booking code guide explains how codes work and why odds can differ.

How long does it take to collect winnings in a shop?

We could not confirm a timing from Betking. In shop guides the cashier checks the ticket and pays on the spot if it is a winner. Ask the shop whether they hold enough cash for a large win.

Is there a limit on cash payouts in a Betking shop?

We could not confirm any figure from an official Betking source, so we give none. Ask the shop or Betking support, and ask before you stake.

How long is a Betking ticket valid?

We could not confirm it. Check the ticket itself and ask the shop. Collect early rather than late.

How do I open a Betking shop?

Betking’s website has a “Become an Agent” application form. The page we saw lists no requirements, fees or contact details, so we cannot say what is needed. Contact Betking support through the official site and be wary of anyone selling a “shop licence” or “Betking franchise” on social media.

Is every Betking shop official?

Not necessarily. Shops are run by agents, and lookalike places exist. Compare the branding with the official site, insist on a printed ticket and, if in doubt, ask Betking support to confirm the shop.
